Another finish - yes, you read it correctly - my needles were flying. I just enjoyed stitching this little guy so much. The little details, the boy on the bike, his dog running after him and the beading just makes things pop. And best of all, I had the frame for him so it is now finished. Yippee.
Hugs to all and once again, thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoy it.

PS, this is a Mill Hill beaded kit entitled "Live Simply".
Jaxon was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) 5 days after his second birthday (Feb 2011). His mother told me that Jaxon is the seventh (7th) child in Canada to be diagnosed with this rare disease. I am his great-aunt Louise and I come up with the idea of this blog to keep people informed, and to use my passion for stitching to raise money for the FOP organizations.

Christmas Cactus Bloomed
Hi everyone, I just had to share another blooming with you. My Christmas Cactus bloomed! Yes, I know this is May but hey, if my plants (all two of them) want to bloom, they can bloom whenever they want!!
I was also going to share with you my latest picture of the African violet, it now has 3 flowers but my picture won't post in the right position, you would have to put your head on your shoulder to see it correctly (big sigh).

Did something nice
Hello everyone, yesterday I had a follow up visit with my surgeon and I decided to do something nice for them. I made sure I left my house a little bit early and I stopped at the local Tim Hortons and bought coffees for the doctor, her nurse and the 2 office staff. They were so surprised, apparently nobody has ever done that before. It wasn't much but it sure made everyone's day!
When I was leaving the office, I met a lady in the elevator who was wearing a very pretty summery dress and I complimented her on it. She was kind of surprised but said thank you, so I explained that we don't get enough compliments and I thought that it was about time that we did. So when I see someone who deserves a compliment I now speak up.
Just thought I would share that with you.
Take care and keep on stitching.
Hugs to all

Coffee Tabletopper - finished
Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I hope that you are enjoying it. Well as the title says, my coffee tabletopper is finished!! I really loved stitching this piece and all I can say is thank goodness I have a couple more tabletoppers to stitch! I have also included a close-up of the nun's stitch used to finish the edges so that the fabric can be fringed. I know that I will be using this stitch in future projects.
Are you wondering what I am currently working on since I have finished the tabletopper. Hmmm, I did start a new one last Sunday (a week ago) so I have continued to work on it. Here is the latest picture, it appears to be stitching up very quickly but we all know how long the stitching actually takes.

Coffee Tabletopper - side 4
Hello, hello, well I have some great news, my coffee tabletopper is finished (all the cross stitching)! And even better, I am half way through all the nun stitching. I will have to post more pictures when I am completely finished but in the meantime, here is the fourth side. Louise

Coffee Tabletopper - Side 3
Hi everyone, I have been busy doing some stitching the past week. I worked on the third side of the coffee tabletopper so one more side to go and then the nun stitching to finish it off. It is close to being finished.
Here is the latest picture. On Sunday, I didn't feel like working on the tabletopper and with all these new patterns in front of me ... I succumbed.... I started a new Mill Hill Bead kit... after finishing the Wizard, I thought it would be at least a month before I started another beaded kit... well I was wrong, it was barely a week. I got quite a lot done for a Sunday evening, but to be honest, I had already separated the threads. This one is entitled "Live Simply", it is so pretty and the best part - less beads than the Wizard (lol).
So dear friends, until the next time, keep on stitching, remember that each of one of you is very special and I thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Hugs to all of you.

Finally, a picture of The Wizard
Hello everyone, I know I promised you a picture earlier on but the sun was not too co-operative. I took a couple of pictures today and they really don't do it justice. This was done on perforated paper and is a kit by Mill Hill. I just happen to love this guy, he called to something within me. I showed the finished product to a friend of mine on Sunday and she thought it was absolutely gorgeous. The beads really do make the Wizard, the various colours of beads complement and contrast the threads. I think it is stunning but then again, I might be a little biased!
And here is an update on my coffee tabletopper, this is the second side that I have finished, am now working on the third side.
That's all for now.

PS, I just noticed that the tabletopper appears to have some waves in it, sorry that is my poor picture taking! Will have to do better next time!
While I was waiting for the sun to shine, I was working on other projects. I did a couple of Lizzie Kate's - the BFF and LOL. I was searching for this pattern after my operation and I just could not find it - I knew I had it but didn't know where I had put it - I really hate that (don't you?). So while in Branson, I was checking the half price table (it's really a bathtub) and there it was... so I had to buy it! I found some beautiful overdyed aida - reminds me of clouds in a beautiful blue sky.
