Oh Christmas Tree

Hi everyone and thanks for reading this blog, there are a lot of them out there to enjoy. The title sounds a bit funny for April but its never to early to start stitching for Christmas!

I bought a tabletopper from Clauda Dutcher of Dutch Treat Designs entitled Oh Christmas Tree, it is simply gorgeous. I took the middle Christmas tree and stitched it up on aida cloth and it turned out beautifully (well, I think so). I am going to stitch several of them and then make them into ornaments or use them in cards.

Take care, have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Carole's Afghans

Goodness, two posts in one day! My neighbour Louise and her husband have been so helpful to me in the past couple of years and now her daughter is involved. Carole crocheted some lovely afghans for us. One is a beautiful aubergine (purple) and the other is a summery green. She does lovely work. One of her sister-in-law saw her crocheting and asked about it, and when she heard about the Jaxon project, she donated a beautiful light blue afghan. Thank you so very much, they will keep somebody very warm this winter!

Hugs

Package in Mail

Hello wonderful readers, tis me again.
I will try to do better in posting more often. I received a wonderful surprise in the mail this week. Michelle, a lady I had met on the cruise in January sent us some goodies. The box contained jewellery that she had made as well as a couple of dishcloths. Thank you ever so much.

Sorry for not posting sooner

Hi everyone, I must apologize to you all for not posting sooner. I am finally getting my energy back after the surgery and resulting infection that I had in my incision! My sympathies to all of you who have gone through something similar. I do have some pictures to take and I will show you some lovely afghans that my neighbours daughter made for us. And I will show you what I have just finished.

I love to read people's blogs and it never fails to amaze me the things that they write about. This blog is, for me, mainly about Jaxon and the efforts to raise more money for the charity. Unfortunately because of the surgery, I haven't been able to visit with Jaxon, that will soon be changing because I have started to drive again! Yea!! A happy dance for sure.

If you would like to see some "works in progress" or WIPs as we call them, please make a comment or send me an e-mail - stitchingweezie at yahoo.com - I usually check this e-mail once a week, so please give me some time to respond.

A friend of mine asked me if I was going to be raising money again this year for the charity. I will tell you that I am in it for the long run, as long as I can see to stitch and I have all my faculties to be able to interpret the patterns, I will be "Stitching for Jaxon". So once again, if you are interested in helping me, I would love your help and I thank you in advance for anything that you can do to help.

Take care and until the next time, luv ya dearly

Some new ornaments

Hi everyone, I haven't done a lot of stitching but I did manage to stitch a few ornaments in the past month. The blue celtic square I actually started stitching it in the Fort Lauderdale airport while waiting for our return flight. The Joy design was a delight to stitch and so very easy to do that I decided to stitch it on the gold and silver aida as well. I found it fascinating that even though I used the same silks, the background fabric made a big difference.

The design is from the Heart in Hand Needleart Collection entitled Inspiration: Joy; the silks are from Victoria Clayton and the aida is Charles Craft.

Take care, Louise

Hello again

Hi everyone, I am so sorry to have such a long time between posts but I have had a bit of a rough time. My surgery was a success but then I developed an infection in the incision and have been on heavy duty antibiotics since. I haven't felt like doing a lot so I have spent a lot of time watching TV and basically snoozing and letting the body recuperate! Today I managed to do a load of laundry - sounds exciting I know - whohoo. As for stitching, well, to be honest I haven't managed to do very much. However I did contact the 3 designers that were aboard the stitching cruise and they have all given me permission to stitch and sell their designs. While I am on the subject, I must be a little blunt here (please forgive me) but I want to make it clear that I have received permission from the designers and this does not mean you have the same permission. If you want to stitch someone's design and sell it for charity, you will have to contact them yourself and get written permission from them. I am sorry if this sounds extremely rude but I want to give the designers their credit and to make sure that we respect their copyrights. Thank you for being so understanding. I must go and update the list of designers. Until the next time, I hope that you all stay healthy, and have plenty of time to stitch.

Hugs and kisses

I'm back from the cruise

Hi everyone, my friends and I are back from the cruise, I had an absolutely wonderful time. I enjoyed meeting some wonderful designers and some fabulous stitchers. I will post more about that later and I will update my designer link page.
I also met a wonderful family from Costa Rica when I went swimming with the stingrays and the dolphins. Their two little girls made the experience even more enjoyable, seeing the wonderment, the awe and their joy on their faces - gotta love it. I think I have another couple of munchkins (my term of endearment for little kids that I love) in my life now. Swimming with the dolphins was a dream come true for me - something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl. They are so beautiful and to be able to touch them was fantastic. Pépé and Luna (the dolphins) gave everyone kisses and rides - how fabulous is that!

This is just a short note to say hello and that I will be incommunicado for a while again, I am having some surgery tomorrow so it will be at least next week before I am on the Internet again. Until then, take care of yourselves
