Hi there, so sorry for not posting in a while, I have been busy stitching up a storm. On Saturday our friend Carole had a stitching day at her house. Oh it was wonderful getting together with her and Marg and Janice. It was a small group but it was a day filled with lots of laughter and I do mean LOTS, at one point we were laughing so hard we had tears running down our faces. And we did a ton of stitching... and of course every once in a while we heard someone say oops (that's the polite version) and we would all be quiet until the person figured out if she had a boo-boo or if she was looking at the wrong spot on the chart (that does happen you know). Fortunately for all of us that nasty little green creature aka the frog stayed away from her house. And if he was visiting you, I am so sorry .... hee hee.
So what was everyone working on... hmm, I was working on my Hockey Santa (I stitched a goodly part of his beard... row after row after row of white/off-white), Carole was also working on one of her challenge pieces as was Janice. Marg has a new grandson so she was working on his Christmas stocking. I also took the opportunity to look at all the projects that Carole started - oh she has some lovely ones in such pretty colours. Can't wait to see them finished!
You might remember that Janice issued a challenge to those of us who participated in the January challenge... she would put $1 in the pot for every completed project we have!! I thought that was very generous of her. Well folks, I have some very generous friends - Carole said she would do the same thing!!
On that wonderful note, have a great day and remember that you are loved. Louise
Jaxon was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) 5 days after his second birthday (Feb 2011). His mother told me that Jaxon is the seventh (7th) child in Canada to be diagnosed with this rare disease. I am his great-aunt Louise and I come up with the idea of this blog to keep people informed, and to use my passion for stitching to raise money for the FOP organizations.

Winter Storm
Hi there, were you one of the unlucky people to get that ton of snow that hit over the weekend? Oh my goodness, what a storm... we were lucky here in Ottawa, I think we only received about 4 inches of the white stuff rather than the 10 they predicted. I don't mind at all, just think, we had less to shovel!! thank goodness for that. And then today, freezing rain.... we must be in Canada, eh! Don't like the weather... wait 5 minutes.
In case you are wondering, I have been busy stitching but I can't show you... I am such a meanie, teasing you like that. lol But I can tell you that I am enjoying stitching it.
Okay, enough about that.... what did you think about the last post... $65,000 was raised here in Canada for the CFOPN.... I am just amazed - that is a goodly chunk of money when you stop and think about it. A lot of people worked very hard to raise that money!
And that is a good way to end this post, Hugs, Louise

Sixty-Five Thousand
Hi there, are you wondering about the title? Let me add a word for you ... dollars - now do you know? Donations to the CFOPN amounted to $65,000 in 2012. And you and I, my friends played a small part in that... so give yourself a pat of the back, a big round of applause for everyone who took the time to contribute to this charity.
Thank you all so much for your support. Hugs Louise

Stats and pics
Hi there, well its Sunday night and another weekend is almost over. I did promise you some stats about the month of January and I also have a few pics to share with you. I had over 900 visits during the month; half of them from my fellow Canadians and about a quarter of them from my friends in the States. Other countries included Australia, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom.
In case you are wondering what on earth am I showing you with the pile of thread.... it is all my orts from the month of January. Orts are the bits that are left when you snip the thread and the pretty little jar was made for me by my friend Kathy and she calls it a snippet jar. So there you are. When I have finished them into ornaments, I will give you the information on the threads and the designers. Take care. Louise

Next years challenge (2014)
I know, I know - we have just finished the month of January and what the heck am I doing thinking of next years challenge. Well, we might have a few WIPs left over from this year.... so I think that next January should be a "Finish some UFOs" challenge. What's the difference between a WIP (work in progress) and a UFO (unfinished object).... about a year in time. My personal definition is a WIP becomes a UFO if you haven't touched it in at least one year. And unfortunately I think I might have a few of those but to be fair, I did inherit a few from my friend Suzanne. So I would like to get some of them done. Yup, sounds like a good challenge to me... what do you think? I am sure that you probably have at least one project that qualifies.... come on, be honest, only one.... perhaps two or maybe even (gasp) three? lol
Leave a note if this sounds like something that would interest you....
Take care, thanks for reading my blog. Tomorrow I will give you some stats of the last month. Hugs Louise
