Hi everyone, today I was working on Bethlehem and everything was going just super and then I look and see one stitch that is half way down on the next line.... big sigh, its ripping time. Okay, no problem, I don't normally make a lot of mistakes so I take out 2 rows... only about 20 stitches, it could have been worse... right!?! And so time passes and holy crap, there's another one... hmmmm (grumbling under my breath)... rip out about 5 stitches - whew, caught that one in time. So I have some lunch and start stitching again.... bummer another boo-boo. None of these mistakes are errors in counting!! The fabric (lugana) has a very tight weave and then the opalescent thread runs through it and every single mistake I made today was the gol-darn opalescent thread that got in the way!!! I did get a lot done on it but I would have gotten further along if it hadn't of been for that pesky frog!!
Hope you had a wonderful day and that pesky frog did not visit you because he was too busy at my place!!
Hugs to all
Louise
Jaxon was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) 5 days after his second birthday (Feb 2011). His mother told me that Jaxon is the seventh (7th) child in Canada to be diagnosed with this rare disease. I am his great-aunt Louise and I come up with the idea of this blog to keep people informed, and to use my passion for stitching to raise money for the FOP organizations.

Bethlehem - an update
Hi everyone, I hope that wherever you are, you have not been suffering from the humidity that we have had here in Ottawa the past couple of days. And then today.... no humidity, the temperature has dropped over 10 degrees Celcius and it's a tad chilly (my girlfriend Janice said it was cold and I said no, just a tad chilly!). lol
Until the next time, love ya dearly

Bethlehem status
Hi everyone, I apologize for not posting the pictures yesterday as I promised but after lunch with Dad, I was busy stitching.... Then I went out for supper with a girlfriend (it's way too hot and humid here in Ottawa to do any cooking!!).
So here is the picture of Bethlehem as it stands right now. The fabric is Crystal Stellar by Picture This Plus - it is an overdyed opalescent blue lugana fabric with tinges of purple and the threads are DMC colour variations number 4240. The threads have a light blue, dark blue and purple in it. I bought the threads because I loved the colouring and then when I saw the fabric, I knew what I was going to stitch on it and the threads that I would use. It is turning out quite nicely.
Take care for now and I hope that you are having a wonderful day.
Hugs, Louise

The toad is finished!
The toad is finished! What toad? Well, after finishing the beaded kit last week, I had to start something new... right?! So I started "Witch Parking" by Glendon Place. It is so cute, I did not have all the colours as specified in the chart but I do have a lot of Victoria Clayton silk threads so I did some changes (lol). And I think that it turned out just lovely (of course that is my personal opinion). I will post a picture but I have to leave in a few minutes to pick up Dad for our weekly lunch date. When I come back I will take a lovely photo in the nice bright sunshine so that you can see all the colours.
And you might be asking yourself, what is she working on now???? Well, its not a beaded kit but I could put beads on it.... its another Bethlehem, this time for my friend Cindy in Denver. So I will take a pic of that one as well so that you can follow my progress as I stitch it.
So dear friends, thank you for taking the time to read the blog and until next time, love ya
PS, the colour of the fabric is green, I will try and take a better picture tomorrow for you. This is the best picture I could get that shows the fabric colour a little better.

Whoo-hoo another finish
As you may have guessed, I finished another project! Hmmm, can you guess what it was - yes, another Mill Hill Bead kit!! It is entitled Lakeside Retreat, I was going to work on something else when I found this little guy and the threads were all separated and.... I had actually thought to work on him last year but other projects kept saying "Stitch me first!!"
I love the Adirondack chairs and the big dog, it is so peaceful. I love the water, I could just sit and stitch for hours if I had a place like this. (Then of course, I would be sunburnt!! and the pesky black flies would be swarming around my head...where's my air conditioned house? lol)
Once again dear friends, thanks for reading, I hope you have a wonderful day until the next time, luv ya dearly.

Playdate with Jaxon
Hello wonderful readers, I wanted to share with you my lovely day with Jaxon. Last Friday, I was finally able to get together with Lara and Jaxon - gosh between the surgery, recovery time and various appointments for them and me, it has been quite some time since we got together. Here in Ottawa, it was a cloudy, overcast day and it eventually rained so it was the perfect day to play inside. I arrived around 10-ish and after finishing my tea, we went to the basement to play.
We played some "hockey" (his version of it), he is so cute with his miniature hockey stick and he can actually hit the ball. Then we played some ball (tossing it back and forth with lots of giggling), raced some cars on a nifty race track with lots more giggles and then it was time for lunch!! While my niece Lara prepared lunch (tortellini - Jaxon's favorite), Jaxon and I played Pirate Pop, it involves sticking swords in a barrel until one of the swords causes the pirate to pop out of the barrel - oh my goodness, I can't tell you the number of times that I jumped when the pirate finally popped and of course we giggled some more! And then we had some lunch and right in the middle of eating his tortellini, Jaxon looks at me and says "I love you very much". aaahhhh So as you might have guessed, I had a wonderful day with them.
May all of you have an "aaahhh" moment today.
